Completed in 2015, the Shanghai Tower rises 632 meters with 128 above-ground floors, making it the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world.
Designed by Gensler and developed by Shanghai Tower Construction and Development, it features a unique twisting form that reduces wind loads by 24%.
Its innovative double-skin glass facade enhances insulation and reduces energy consumption. The tower houses offices, luxury hotels, retail spaces, and observation decks. It also boasts the world’s fastest elevators, traveling at speeds up to 20.5 m/s (about 74 km/h).
