One of Peyman Peyravi’s special works is a calligraphy piece on Qaswan oak wood. This wood is known for its beauty and use in marquetry. The artwork combines calligraphy and painting on this tough surface, which makes it unique.

Working on this wood is hard, but that is what makes the piece interesting. This is the first time this technique has been used in Iran. It is a big achievement in Persian art.

Challenges in Peyravi’s Life

Support from My Wife: My wife has always supported me. She has been there for me through tough times, helping me every step of the way.

Pandemic and Creativity: The pandemic was a challenging time for everyone. But for me, it was also a chance to be more creative. I had many ideas in my mind, and I could finally bring them to life. The result was new and unique art. It made me happy as an artist who thinks differently.

Challenges for Artists: Every artist faces challenges, but in Iran, these challenges are bigger. In many countries, artists have managers to help with things like planning. But in Iran, the artist has to do everything alone.

Sadly, they don’t have help. Art is changing. People’s tastes are shifting, and the future feels unsure, with both good and bad parts.

Less Government Collaboration: I used to work a lot with the Cultural and Artistic Organization of the Municipality, but due to many disappointments, I have chosen to work less with government bodies.
