9. Trift Bridge

High above a glacier lake in the Swiss Alps, the Trift Bridge is not just a crossing. It’s an adventure. This narrow bridge stretches 170 meters across Triftsee. It hangs 100 meters above the icy water below.
You’ll find it near the village of Gadmen. It’s only for hikers; no cars, no crowds. Just you, the mountains, and the wind. The views are jaw-dropping. Snowy peaks surround you. The Trift Glacier sparkles in the sun. First built in 2004, the bridge was rebuilt in 2009. Today, it’s one of the longest and highest in the Alps.
Getting there is half the thrill. Start with a cable car ride from Meiringen. Then take a gondola. Finally, hike uphill for 90 minutes. The reward? Pure alpine magic. With every step, wooden planks sway underfoot. Steel cables hum in the breeze. It’s a walk you’ll never forget; perfect for adventurers and dreamers alike.
