7. Wellington Airport — New Zealand
Surrounded by hills and open water, Wellington Airport is notorious for extreme crosswinds that make it hard for planes to stay level on approach. Even large commercial aircraft often sway and shake as they come in to land. The single runway is relatively short, and there’s little room for corrections once a descent begins.
Despite its beauty, this is one of the most difficult airports in the Southern Hemisphere to navigate.
