1. Tenzing-Hillary Airport — Lukla, Nepal

Often considered the most dangerous airport on Earth, Tenzing-Hillary sits at the edge of a cliff, 9,000 feet above sea level in the Himalayas. The runway is extremely short and slopes uphill, with a mountain wall at one end and a deadly drop at the other.
The approach is complicated by unpredictable mountain weather, low visibility, and sudden winds. Only a few highly skilled pilots are certified to land here, and most flights operate early in the day before conditions get worse.
