Scott Wolf has broken his silence in a dramatic and emotional statement following a series of explosive developments in his bitter divorce battle with estranged wife Kelley Wolf.
The Party of Five star, 57, said he had hoped to keep his divorce proceedings private, but after what he calls “deeply disturbing and entirely false” allegations from Kelley, he says he has no choice but to speak out — particularly for the sake of their three children.
“My continued hope is to have this most difficult chapter of our family’s lives remain as private as possible. However, the well-being of my children is at stake, and that will always be my priority,” Scott said in an exclusive statement.
The False Allegations and Text Message Evidence
Scott claims he was informed of Kelley’s alleged plans to accuse him of psychological abuse, child abuse, child endangerment, and even stealing passports — accusations he calls “completely baseless and incredibly dangerous.”
In text messages reviewed by PEOPLE, Kelley allegedly told Scott she had been advised to “make claims that are possible, even though I do not believe they’re true,” in order to gain leverage in court.
She allegedly added:
“When you accused me of all the things you put in the restraining order, you made me into a villain. The only way I can fight back is to produce claims that are either the same as yours or greater.”
Scott says these admissions prove her intent to “weaponize” false claims in what she described as a “battle in court, and in the court of public opinion.”
“In order to protect my kids, I am providing the text messages she sent to me where she describes this plan, so there are no questions about her intentions,” Scott stated.
Kelley’s Response
When reached for comment, Kelley, 48, did not deny sending the messages but insisted:
“I don’t believe that Scott would [abuse our children]. I’ve lost my career, my reputation, my children, my integrity, my honor, my devotion to my marriage. As a parent, I have literally lost everything except my life. I’ve done everything strategic, and I’m hopeful for my children.”
Custody Ruling and Court Agreement
The statement comes just weeks after a temporary court agreement granted Scott sole physical custody of the couple’s three children — Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.
Kelley was allowed “liberal” supervised visitation and three weekly supervised phone or video calls with the kids. A social media gag order was also issued, barring either party from posting about each other, their children, or the divorce.
While the agreement stressed the “ultimate goal” was for Kelley to eventually regain unsupervised parenting time, it underscored serious concerns raised by Scott and the court.
Kelley’s Mental Health Struggles
Kelley’s troubles have also included multiple psychiatric holds in recent months.
- In June, just days after the couple announced their split, she was detained by police following “concerning” comments made to her father.
- Later that month, Kelley confirmed she had been placed under an involuntary 5150 psychiatric hold, typically reserved for those considered a danger to themselves or others.
- On July 6, she was reportedly placed on a second psychiatric hold, following an alleged incident involving a knife, and spent a week at a treatment facility in Salt Lake City.
A Painful End to a 21-Year Marriage
Scott and Kelley married in 2004 after meeting two years earlier, and for years were considered one of Hollywood’s more private and enduring couples.
In June, Scott announced their separation after 21 years together, calling it “the most difficult decision of my life.” Kelley initially echoed a positive note, describing him as “one of the best fathers I’ve ever known.”
But in the weeks since, their divorce has unraveled into a contentious and deeply personal battle playing out both in court and in the press.

In closing his statement, Scott emphasized the toll the ordeal has taken on their children and urged caution in how the allegations are reported.
“Although her claims are completely baseless and incredibly dangerous, the worst part is that they are traumatic for our children. I hope that anyone who might speak publicly or report on such things will consider this before spreading any further information from a clearly unreliable and completely compromised source.”
He added:
