Mandy Moore is calling out a reckless driver after a frightening hit-and-run incident that left her and her family shaken.
On August 1, the This Is Us star shared on Instagram Stories that she, her husband Taylor Goldsmith, and their three young children — August “Gus,” 4, Oscar “Ozzie,” 2, and 10-month-old Louise — were rear-ended by a woman who immediately fled the scene.
“The woman who rear ended my family and then drove off as we pulled over, hope your karma finds you,” Moore wrote. “Thankfully everyone was ok but what kind of human does that?”
A Year of Scary Incidents
The hit-and-run is only the latest unsettling experience for Moore and her family in 2024. In January, they were forced to evacuate their Altadena home due to the deadly Eaton fire in Southern California.
“I love you, Altadena,” Moore wrote at the time, sharing footage of flames and destruction. “Grateful for my family and pets getting out before it was too late… My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too.”
The family found refuge with close friend Hilary Duff, who took them in and provided essentials. Moore expressed deep gratitude for the support, but admitted she was “in shock” over the devastation.
Finding Joy Amid Challenges
Despite the difficult start to the year, Moore recently enjoyed a much-needed beach getaway with her family in Punta Mita, Mexico. Sharing photos of sandy playtime, ocean waves, and meals with friends, she wrote, “Nothing beats a beach vacation with some of your besties. Gus hasn’t stopped talking about it!”
Married since 2018, Moore and Goldsmith have been open about their loving partnership and hands-on parenting style. Moore frequently shares heartfelt tributes to her husband, praising his patience, gentle nature, and dedication to their children.
As for the hit-and-run driver, Moore made it clear she won’t stay silent — using her platform to call out dangerous behavior and remind others of the importance of accountability on the road.
