Post categories:

HGTV fans stunned as popular series ‘Christina on the Coast‘ won’t return for a new season.

Christina Haack is closing the door on a major chapter of her television career. The beloved HGTV star’s hit show, Christina on the Coast, has officially been canceled, PEOPLE confirms via a source. The news comes as part of a broader shake-up at the network, which is currently purging several of its fan-favorite renovation series.

Fans of the sunny California makeovers and Haack’s signature design style may be in for a disappointing surprise, this marks the end of a show that followed her professional growth, personal life, and passion for transforming homes.

According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE:

“Christina on the Coast has not been renewed for a new season.”

The show, which was already in its fifth season, saw the second half premiere in February 2025. It followed Haack as she tackled complex renovations for families in need of design inspiration.

The news of the cancellation comes on the heels of Haack’s own personal transitions, her ex-husband, Josh Hall, filed for divorce in July 2024 after nearly three years of marriage. Haack did not appear in the Season 5 premiere, but her design work and legacy carried the series forward.

Haack’s other show, Christina in the Country, which debuted its second season in late 2024, remains in limbo. HGTV has not yet confirmed whether it will return for another installment.

The cancellation of Christina on the Coast isn’t an isolated event. HGTV has also cut several other high-profile shows in recent weeks, including Bargain Block, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, and Izzy Does It. PEOPLE also confirmed that The Flipping El Moussas, starring Haack’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae, has also been axed.

One bright spot for fans may be The Flip Off, a show that pits Tarek and Heather Rae against Haack in a renovation showdown. While the series hasn’t started filming yet, a source tells PEOPLE it has been renewed for a second season.

Reflecting on the filming of The Flip Off, Haack admitted to PEOPLE:

“It definitely was a distraction. I think it relieved that stress. The show was stressful in itself for different reasons not even having to do with our dynamic. Just flipping a house that fast, and I haven’t flipped in a long time. So I think it was a good distraction.”

As viewers await what’s next from HGTV’s lineup, one thing is clear: the network’s landscape is changing, and not even its most popular personalities are immune.
