Rabies is one of the most lethal viruses to humans, with nearly 100% fatality once symptoms appear. The virus attacks the brain and central nervous system, causing aggression, confusion, hallucinations, and paralysis. Most commonly transmitted through bites from infected animals, rabies can be prevented with timely vaccination after exposure. However, once symptoms manifest, there’s little hope for survival.
