4. Horseshoe Lake
Horseshoe Lake in California looks calm, but it is very dangerous. The soil surrounding this place has high amounts of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, which threaten the trees and people. Many trees nearby have died because of the gas, and some people have died close to the lake. Unlike other lakes, it has no bright colors or steam, so its danger is not easy to see.
