The Rajneesh Movement, led by guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, started as a spiritual community in Oregon but quickly became dangerous. Followers carried out the first bioterrorism attack in the U.S., poisoning hundreds of people’s food.
They also tried to kill a government official investigating them. Rajneesh was eventually deported, but the cult’s dark story remains shocking.
