4. Barred Owl
Though small compared to others on this list, the barred owl is highly territorial and has sharp talons it uses with precision. Attacks on hikers and joggers have been reported, often from behind and without warning. Their silent flight and strong claws make them surprisingly dangerous, especially when defending nests during breeding season.
