7. Fer-de-Lance
This pit viper from Central and South America is highly aggressive and responsible for the most snakebite deaths in its range. Its venom destroys tissue and causes internal bleeding. Fer-de-Lance snakes are well-camouflaged and strike with lightning speed when disturbed. Farmers and hikers in its habitat must remain especially cautious.
