4. Taal Volcano, Philippines

Taal is deceptively beautiful but dangerously active. Situated on an island in a lake, it’s just 30 miles south of Manila. Its 2020 eruption caused widespread evacuations and ashfall across the capital. Since then, continued earthquakes and gas emissions suggest that Taal is still restless. Because of its location and history of sudden activity, authorities consider it one of the Philippines’ most potentially deadly volcanoes.
