5. Oymyakon, Siberia, Russia
Often called the coldest inhabited place on Earth, Oymyakon reaches temperatures as low as -67.7°C (-89.9°F). Located in northeastern Russia, the town is extremely remote and has minimal infrastructure. Despite the bitter cold and isolation, it has a small but enduring population. It’s only accessible by a long and treacherous road journey through Siberia.
