3. Pitcairn Island, Pacific Ocean
Home to descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers, Pitcairn Island lies deep in the South Pacific. Fewer than 50 people live here, with supplies arriving only a few times a year by ship. No airstrip exists, so the island is reached only by a long boat journey. It’s incredibly peaceful — and incredibly isolated.
