9. Easter Island’s Rapa Nui
The Rapa Nui people carved the famous giant stone statues called Moai. These statues still puzzle researchers about how they were moved and what led to the society’s decline.
Why They’re Mysterious:
- Built hundreds of Moai using limited tools.
- May have cut down too many trees, leading to collapse.
- Isolation made survival difficult after European contact.
