6. The Hittites
The Hittite Empire once controlled parts of modern Turkey and Syria. They were powerful warriors and diplomats, but their empire suddenly fell around 1200 BCE.
Why They’re Mysterious:
- Their laws and treaties were advanced for their time.
- They used iron tools early, giving them military power.
- Sudden disappearance remains debated.
