The Shortfin Mako is one of the fastest sharks, reaching speeds of 46 mph (74 km/h). It can grow up to 15 feet (4.5 meters) and weigh nearly a ton. Known for its speed and strength, it can leap out of the water and sometimes injure people or boats.
