The Orinoco River is extremely dangerous for swimming because of its fast currents, winding channels, and powerful rapids and waterfalls. Pollution from mining and industry worsens the river’s condition. It’s also home to piranhas, electric eels, giant anacondas, and crocodiles, adding to the risks.
