Once a booming industrial hub, Detroit’s rise and fall are tied to modern development. From the early 20th century, Detroit became the center of the American automobile industry. However, as factories closed and the population declined, much of the city’s historic architecture was bulldozed to make space for new, more “efficient” developments.
Landmarks like the Michigan Central Station were abandoned and demolished, while modern infrastructure took over the once-vibrant neighborhoods.
