6. Hantavirus

Hantavirus infections primarily spread through rodent droppings, urine, or saliva. The virus can cause Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), which leads to severe respiratory distress and can be fatal if not treated promptly. Although rare, outbreaks of Hantavirus have been documented across the world. Its high mortality rate, especially in areas with heavy rodent populations, makes it a significant public health concern.
