2. Tsetse Fly
Found in sub-Saharan Africa, the tsetse fly transmits African sleeping sickness (trypanosomiasis). The parasite it carries attacks the central nervous system, causing confusion, seizures, and death if untreated. These flies may look ordinary, but they can silently infect people with a fatal disease through a single bite. In some regions, they’ve devastated livestock and human populations.
